This amazing building, featuring what they call Art Nouveau, while its detractors called it style nouille (spaghetti style) is not far from where I live in the XVème arrondissement.
Unfortunately, the name of the architect, usually carved onto buildings has been removed. I took this photo quite a while ago, but remembered it as I walked by with a friend yesterday.

I love art nouveau and art deco. I’d sure like to see that one in person.

Okay…you’re really TRYING to give me Paris withdrawal, aren’t you, Claude? (smile)
What an awesome building and I never tired of looking at those while in Paris. I think that was THEE one thing that impressed Brian, Susan and Kaela the most last week. The remarkable architecture everywhere in Paris!
BTW….I’ll email you privately….we’re ALL booked to return to Paris Oct. 10. Flights are booked and apt. is confirmed.

Beautiful! I wish that architects and planning permission officials around here created beautiful buildings like that instead of the boxlike bores that are put up here ALL THE TIME!

Claude, You are indeed one “lucky duck” to live in Paris where you can just walk out and see such beauty.
We lived in Washington D.C. at the Watergate condominium complex for 4 years and I enjoyed walking by the White House, the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial by the Potomac river. Washington does not compare with Paris in architectural beauty but it does have charm all it’s own, particularly the houses of Georgetown and along Embassy Row.

What a great building. I, too, love Art Nouveau but couldn’t live with it as a full time thing… I can see why it would be called the “spaghetti style”.

If you are an Art Nouveau fan, the town of Nancy is a must. And with the new TGV service it is a short train ride from Paris. Well, relatively.
