Fanny and Mémé

1947 again. Mémé and Fanny outside my parents’ house in Deauville
At the time, my aunt Fanny – my father’s sister – and Mémé lived with us in Deauville. Fanny was 35 and single. I thought she was my private property and she took care of me and my older brother as if we had been her children.
Mémé wore slippers as always. I don’t think I have ever seen her wearing shoes.
