From Petit Palais to Invalides

Petit Palais Saint Louis des Invalides
Le Petit Palais and Saint-Louis des Invalides

My friend Fazou had been to newly reopened Petit Palais and had enjoyed it so much that she suggested we went together.
I loved the place, even more so because taking photos was allowed. They’ve done a wonderful job, paying attention to details like signs, the museum has a lot to offer. Its collections are displayed in large and well lit rooms, the garden setting is beautiful and must look even better in spring with flowers. Incidentally, entrance is free till the beginning of April. We went around the bottom floor and had lunch at the cafeteria, I stopped in the gardens to take photos and resumed our visit.

Then I crossed the Seine through Pont Alexandre III, which I have already photographed a lot, and added this photo to my collection and walked to the Esplanade des Invalides. I found that it was possible to cross the Invalides and get out to Avenue de Breteuil. I visited Saint-Louis des Invalides church for the first time, and finally walked back home. A pleasant walk in spite of overcast weather.

On a daily basis, I upload quite a lot of photos onto my flickr account, but I choose one a day, which I blog at my Photoblog: Claude’s Daily Snap
